Dussehra marks the phenomenal triumph of good over evil. It signifies two massive victories: Lord Rama defeating Ravana, and Goddess Durga annihilating Mahishasura.

Vrat Vidhi & Fasting Rules

Celebrations range from the immersion of Durga idols to the burning of Ravana effigies.

Step-by-Step Fasting Procedures:

In Bengal, married women perform 'Sindoor Khela' before immersing the Durga idol in the river (Visarjan).
In North India, Ramlila concludes with the burning of towering effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghanada at sunset.
