About Rashifal

What is Rashifal?

Rashifal (राशिफल) is a Vedic-astrology horoscope based on your Rashi— the Moon sign occupied by the Moon at the time of your birth. Unlike the popular Western “sun sign” horoscope, which is based on the Sun's position, Vedic tradition places central importance on the Moon because it is considered to govern the mind, emotions, and day-to-day disposition. There are twelve Rashis — from Mesha (Aries) to Meena (Pisces) — and each carries its own ruling planet, element, and set of traits.

How Rashifal Readings Are Framed

A Rashifal reading is built by considering how the transiting planets — the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, and the lunar nodes Rahu and Ketu — move through the houses counted from your Rashi over the period in question. The faster-moving bodies (Moon, Sun, Mercury, Venus) shape the short-term daily and weekly tone, while the slower-moving planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu) shape the broader monthly and yearly themes. Predictions are typically grouped into everyday life aspects such as career, finance, health, love, and family.

Choosing Your Time Period

  • Daily Rashifal: A short-range outlook for the current day, refreshed every day.
  • Weekly Rashifal: A broader view spanning the current week, useful for planning ahead.
  • Monthly Rashifal: A month-long overview highlighting the general mood and major themes.
  • Yearly Rashifal: A long-range outlook shaped mainly by the slower transits of Jupiter and Saturn.

Finding Your Rashi

The most accurate way to know your Rashi is from your exact birth date, time, and place, which is what the Moon Sign Calculator on this site uses. If you don't have your birth details handy, the “Find Rashi with Name” tool offers a quick, traditional approximation based on the Namakshar (naming syllable) your name begins with — a convenient starting point, though not a substitute for a birth-time-based reading.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rashifal

Rashifal is a Vedic astrology horoscope based on your Moon sign (Rashi) rather than your Sun sign. Vedic tradition treats the Moon's position at birth as the key indicator of mind, mood, and daily circumstances, so Rashifal predictions are read against your Rashi, not your Western zodiac sign.
