Special Yogas

Special Yogas are formed by specific combinations of Vaara (weekday), Tithi and Nakshatra. Some are favoured and some are withheld — both groups are listed below. Each is computed with its own exact dates and timings for your location; pick one to see this year's occurrences.

Auspicious Special Yogas

Inauspicious Special Yogas (periods to avoid)

These are Special Yogas too, but ones the classical Muhurat tables mark as periods to avoid. Like the auspicious group above, each is computed with exact dates and timings for your location.

The 27 Nitya Yogas (Panchang Yogas)

These are the "Yoga" limb of the Panchang — the Sun's and Moon's sidereal longitudes added together and divided into 27 arcs of 13°20', each running about 21–25 hours. They are a different system from the Special Yogas above, which are Vaara/Tithi/Nakshatra combinations. Nine of the 27 are traditionally held back from important beginnings. Each is computed with its own exact dates and timings for your location; pick one to see this year's occurrences.
