Name: splendid, becoming
Shobhana means splendid or becoming — something that enhances the beauty or dignity of an occasion — and the Yoga is read in that same decorative, celebratory register. It belongs to the auspicious half of the cycle and is associated with anything meant to look and feel graceful.
Classical Muhurta favours Shobhana for ceremonial and artistic occasions in particular: decoration, adornment, the staging of celebrations, and acts where presentation matters as much as substance. It is a Yoga suited to occasions meant to be enjoyed as much as accomplished.
Anything ceremonial, artistic or decorative — its name means splendid or becoming, and Muhurta texts favour it for occasions where grace and presentation are part of the point, alongside general auspicious use.
A Nitya Yoga is one of 27 periods based on the sum (not the difference, as with Tithi) of the Sun's and Moon's longitudes, each 13°20' wide. It is distinct from the special Muhurat Yogas also listed under /yogas (like Ravi Yoga or Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga) — those are formed by a combination of Tithi, Nakshatra, and Vaara, whereas a Nitya Yoga is one of the five ever-present core elements of the Panchang.
